An apparatus and a method for stably supplying a power source in a semiconductor memory having a multi mode are provided to secure a stable power supply by using a power source supplied to a pad for determining a present mode as an additional power source. A decoder(130) generates a mode determining signal based on a power source applied from a mode determining pad for determining a multi mode. A control part(300) connects the mode determining pad to an internal power supply line of a semiconductor memory based on the mode determining signal received from the decoder. The control part includes a plurality of switches and a plurality of switching circuits. The switch connects or blocks the mode determining pad and the internal power supply line of the semiconductor memory. The switch circuit controls the switch. The number of mode determining pads and mode determining signals is more than 2 in case the multi mode includes three or more modes. |
