<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display for a VA (Vertical Alignment) mode which is less in color shift and high in the level of front contrast. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display for the VA mode including a first polarizer, a liquid crystal cell for the VA mode and a second polarizer, the liquid crystal cell for the VA mode is compensated by an optical compensation layer having refractive index distribution of nx=ny>nz. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
