PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for producing polyurethane foam that can adjust the balance of an acid value and the amount of base catalysts when used as material for producing the polyurethane foam and effectively control material properties such as reactivity, curing property and flame resistance, and a composition for the polyurethane foam with the additive mixed therein, and a method for producing the polyurethane foam using it. SOLUTION: A monoester composition mainly composed of a monoester composition obtained under a reaction condition where the molar ratio of monohydric alcohol to a divalent carboxylic acid anhydride is 1.0-2.0, with the acid value being in a range of 50-700 mgKOH/g, is used as the additive for a composition for the polyurethane foam.
