<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solves the problem that formerly when a library user is going to obtain books, the user is needed to repeat search operation for every library or bookstore, since the user searches at first the book stock information on its own use library when the book is stocked in the use library, and the user receives the lending; when there is not the book stocked in the use library, the user searches the book stock information of a library having a lending agreement, and orders the library having the lending agreement to send the books; when there is not the book stocked in either library, the user looks for a bookstore having the book in the stock, and obtains the book by purchasing at own expense, and also a library administrator holds and manages a database of bibliographic information required for the user of the own library to search books in addition to a database of book stock information. <P>SOLUTION: In a cross-sectional search system for book stock information, an information integration server collects bibliographic information and book stock information from a bibliographic information server and a plurality of book stock information servers respectively and consolidates and displays those pieces of information.
