PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning machine which achieves good energy saving property and good durability and is high in production efficiency. SOLUTION: In this spinning machine, a control unit 73 for controlling the operations of a loose yarn-tightening device 12 can be switched into the first mode for switching the operation and stop of the loose yarn-tightening device 12 or the second mode of always operating the loose yarn-tightening device 12. In the first mode, the loose yarn-tightening device 12 is operated at least in the operation time of operations (for example, a piecing work and a doffing work) capable of winding up the yarn spun from a spinning device on a winder.
