PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for an oral cavity having excellent antibacterial effects on bio-films in the oral cavity, and exhibiting selective antibacterial effects on cariogenic bacteria. SOLUTION: The composition for an oral cavity is characterized by comprising (A) human defensine in an amount of 0.00025-0.05 mass% based on the total composition, and (B) dextranase. The composition for the oral cavity exhibits excellent antibacterial effects on the bio-films in the oral cavity, and manifests particularly selective effects on the carcinogenic bacteria in the bio-films in the oral cavity. The composition for the oral cavity is effective for prophylaxis of diseases in the oral cavity such as dental caries. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
