The vehicle has an electrical machine (2) dynamically operated and coupled to a drive wheel or a rotary element that is linked to the drive wheel. Detection units (D) include a sensor system automatically, and detect whether the vehicle is towed-off. A control unit (4) is designed such that the electrical machine is operated during existence of towing process, so that a power supply of the vehicle, a current distributing device (6) and an energy storage device (12) e.g. battery, are temporally supplied with energy during the period of the towing process. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a motor vehicle that defines an electrical machine.
