<p>A clamshell case ( 10) for enclosing a helicopter (50) includes a base ( 12) for supporting said helicopter (50), a first side section (14) attached by a first hinge (40a, 72a) to one edge of the base ( 12), a second side section (16) attached by a second hinge (40b, 72b) to the other edge of the base ( 12), and a drive system (20) for rotating said side sections (14, 16)towards each other to substantially enclose said helicopter (50) and substantially completely protect it from the weather and other damage. A hydraulic motor preferably in the form of pistons (26a, 26b) and operated by a remote control mechanism (24, 32) provides the driving force.</p> |
