<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for adjusting surface pressure applied on a laminated body in a fuel cell stack. <P>SOLUTION: In the fuel cell stack having a laminated body wherein a plurality of power generation bodies arranging electrodes on both sides of an electrolyte membrane are laminated and an expanding and contracting member arranged on an end of the laminated body and being expanded and contracted in the laminated direction of the laminated bodies, the expanding and contracting member includes a first plate, a second plate arranged to face the first plate, an elastic body arranged between the first plate and the second plate, and a shaft projected from the second plate.
