<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment dispersion stably recording an image having high fastness and excellent grade over a long period of time in any case, to provide ink, to provide an ink cartridge, and to provide an inkjet recording apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The pigment dispersion consists essentially of a polymer dispersant, a pigment, and water. In the pigment dispersion, the polymer dispersant is a straight-chain copolymer composed of at least a hydrophobic unit and a hydrophilic unit, and the hydrophobic unit has a block part composed of at least one hydrophobic monomer. The solubility parameter of the hydrophilic unit is characterized by falling within the range of +2 to +14 (J/cm<SP>3</SP>)<SP>1/2</SP>based on the solubility parameter of the block part composed of the hydrophobic monomer of the hydrophobic unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
