PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crawler type traveling device providing an elastic crawler having no movable portion joined by a pin or the like, and achieving a uniform ground-contact surface pressure by the small number of wheel-rolling mechanisms. SOLUTION: The crawler type traveling device with a caterpillar system includes a drive wheel (12) transmitted with drive force by a drive shaft (11); a guide wheel (13) having a shaft parallel to a shaft of the drive wheel; and the crawler wound on the drive wheel and the guide wheel. The crawler includes an inner crawler (18) having an engagement structure with the drive wheel and transmitted with drive force from the drive wheel; an outer crawler (19) surrounding an outer side in a circumferential direction of the inner crawler and having approximately the same width as the inner crawler; and a plurality of elastic members (20) connecting the inner crawler to the outer crawler over the whole circumference of the crawler.
