PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand grip body for an underwater camera housing, which can stably couple a bracket shoe on a grip support side and an external equipment base unit for an external stroboscope to be mounted on the bracket shoe without causing vibration and which can improve operability in photography for a cameraman. SOLUTION: In the hand grip body 21A functioning also as an external equipment mount part which is mounted on the side part of the housing body 2 of the underwater camera housing 1, the bracket shoe 28 formed of thermoplastic engineering plastic to present a nearly T-shaped side surface and also equipped with a screw carrier 31 in which the metallic external equipment base unit 41 can be attached by screwing is arranged at the top 22a of the grip support 22 constituting the hand grip body 21A.
