PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To pinpoint the position of incidence of radiation with high resolution while achieving downsizing, cost reduction and simplification of the production of a radiation detector 1. SOLUTION: There are provided: a flat scintillator 21; a container part 221 holding the scintillator 21 contacting the lateral faces thereof; a container base 22 having a recess groove 222 formed by a fine process technology, the one end of which is in communication with the container part 221 and the other end of which is in communication with outside; a cover body 23 having a through-hole for letting an incident radiation in to the scintillator 21, which, together with the recess groove 222, forms a wave guide WG by being overlayed on the holding base 22; and a photodetector part 3 for detecting the scintillation light guided by the wave guide WG.
