<p>A device and method for encoding/decoding video data is disclosed. The decoding device includes a toolbox provided with functional units, a restoring unit for taking, as an input, compressed decoder description and restoring compact decoder description language (CDDL)-based decoder description, a decoder description interpretation unit for converting the CDDL-based decoder description into extensible markup language (XML)-based decoder description, an abstract decoder model (ADM) creating unit for creating ADM by using the XML-based decoder description, and a decoding solution for loading functional units from the toolbox and decoding input data into video data by using the ADM or XML-based decoder description. The present invention allows reconstruction and reassembly of a decoder into a wide variety of types by using the decoder description.</p> |
