Provided is a linear motor, which comprises a field element and an armature. The linear motor is caused, by the interactions of magnetic fluxes generated between the armature and the field element when the armature is energized, to generate a force to displace the field element and the armature relative to each other along a predetermined one axis direction. In a typical mode, the linear motor comprises a stator constituted of one of the field element and the armature, a movable element constituted of the other of the field element and the armature, a frame member for regulating the one axis direction, a rail for guiding the movable element reciprocally only in a linear direction, a first positioning portion disposed in the frame member for positioning the stationary position of the stator relative to the frame member, and a second positioning portion disposed in the frame member for positioning the stationary position of the rail relative to the frame member, so that the movable element may move reciprocally along the one axis direction while forming a clearance of a predetermined size with respect to the stator positioned in the first positioning portion.
|
