A piston for axial type piston pump and motor is provided to install the piston ring easily without cutting the piston ring, avoiding the deformation of the piston ring. A piston(30) for axial type piston pump and motor comprises a body piston(34) consisting of a rod(33) tapered upward and a ball part(31) integrally form on the upper end of the rod and combined with a driving shaft disc fixed to a driving shaft, a landing portion(32) of curved surface shape which makes contact with the inner surface of a cylinder, and a piston ring(35) which is joined beneath the landing portion. The landing portion includes a ring coupling member(50) capable of joining one or more pairs of pistons without cutting.
