Use of a trace element solution comprising at least one trace element and at least two complexing agents for metal ions, for the supplementation of nutrients for an anaerobic biogas fermentation, is claimed. Independent claims are included for: (1) the trace element solution; and (2) a process for the extraction of biogas in a biogas plant, comprising adding the trace element solution containing at least one trace element and at least one complexing agent to the biogas plant.
