The transmission has a main oil pump driven mechanically by an internal combustion engine, and an auxiliary oil pump (1) arranged inside an oil sump that is driven electrically. The auxiliary oil pump is arranged transversely with respect to a travel direction (x) of a motor vehicle, and is arranged under a parking lock mechanism (10) i.e. parking lock gear wheel. The auxiliary oil pump has a pressure connection (7), which is connected to a hydraulic shifting unit (5). A transmission oil filter (6) is arranged under the hydraulic shifting unit.
