A hermetic compressor is provided to prevent degradation of the compressor efficiency resulting from unnecessary rising of input to the electric mechanism. A hermetic compressor comprises an airtight container(10), an electric mechanism, a compression mechanism, and a frame(50). The airtight container is filled with a specific amount of oil. The electric mechanism is installed inside the airtight container, including a stator generating a driving force, a rotor, and a rotation axis(23). The compression mechanism is installed on the upper side of the electric mechanism and activated by the driving force from the electric mechanism to compress refrigerant. The frame is installed on the lower side of the electric mechanism and supports the rotation axis of the electric mechanism. The frame has a bearing part(55) supporting the rotation axis in the radial direction and a skirt part(56) extending toward the electric mechanism from the bearing part. |
