A method and apparatus for controlling a proxy server

A method and arrangement in a proxy server (200) for adapting and controlling communication between client terminals (T) and web servers (S) over the Internet or an Intranet. A plurality of workflow scripts (206) and a plurality of script-controlled function modules (208) are implemented in the proxy server. The function modules are associated with said workflow scripts, for performing specific functions of the proxy server when handling received client requests directed to web servers. Each function module is adapted to perform a specific function based on instructions from an associated workflow script.
