Artificial iris replacement comprises a prosthetic body (1) having an inner ring region (2) with an aperture (4) and an outer ring region (3) surrounding the inner region. The inner ring region is phototropic and the outer ring region is impermeable to light. Preferred Features: The prosthetic body is formed as a circular disk with a central aperture. The disk has an outer diameter of 9.0-11.0 mm and the aperture has a diameter of 3.0-4.0 mm. The outer periphery of the outer ring region is 9.0 mm. The prosthetic body is made from a soft material in the outer ring region.
