SCHEDULING APPRATUS FOR WIRELESS LOCAL AREA NETWORKS

A scheduling device of a wireless LAN is provided to reduce polling overheads of each station, and to magnify TXOP(Transmission Opportunity) usage rates, thereby increasing the number of stations serviced in a network. An SI(Service Interval) setting unit(10) sets an SI table including minimum SIs to be scheduled. The SI table consists of the minimum SIs and 'SI.sub.k' where regular increments are added for the minimum SIs. An SI allocator(20) allocates SIs which are the most approximate to MSIs(Maximum Service Intervals) of each station, to each station. An acceptance decider calculates TXOPs of each station by using the allocated SIs, and determines whether to accept participation of the stations based on the calculated TXOPs.
