Method for managing the charge of a battery

The method involves applying current for maintaining charge of a battery by a charge circuit, where the battery includes rechargeable electrochemical accumulator e.g. nickel-metal hydride or nickel-cadmium accumulator. The overcharge current is applied by the charge circuit, when the temperature of the battery is lower than a temperature threshold. The supply of the overcharge current is stopped, when the temperature of the battery is greater than another temperature threshold. An independent claim is also included for an electronic system for a battery, comprising a temperature sensor.
