The piezoelectric actuator module (19) has an actuator body (23), which comprises multiple ceramic layers (26,27) and multiple electrode layers (28,29) arranged between the ceramic layers. The actuator body is surrounded by a coating (40). The coating is formed of a metal-organic polymer by a sol gel transformation. The coating is formed as an oxide ceramic coating. An independent claim is included for a fuel injection valve, particularly an injector for a fuel injection system.
