PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of preventing abnormality from occurring in an image transferred to transfer-paper due to the kind and the thickness of the transfer-paper carried to a transfer part being a contact part between an image carrier and a transfer member. SOLUTION: In the case of carrying transfer-paper P consisting of cardboard to the transfer part, the cam follower piece 650b of a pressure switching plate 650 is pushed up by the cam edge 660a of a pressure switching cam 660. A pressure switching spring 670 laid over between the locking part 650a of the plate 650 and a supporting body 620 is elongated. By the elongation of the spring 670, rotational force in the clockwise direction with a supporting shaft 621 as center is applied to the supporting body 620. Thus, pressing force by the pressing spring 641 of a pressing member 640 for pressing the pressing piece 620a of the supporting body 620 so as to rock the supporting body 620 in the counterclockwise direction is reduced, and the contact pressure of a secondary transfer bias roller 605 to an intermediate transfer belt 501 by a contacting/separating mechanism is made low, and the contact pressure becomes optimal to the transfer-paper P consisting of the cardboard. |
