A device and a method for setting a default gateway address in a mobile communication system are provided to reduce PPP(Peer to Peer Protocol) processing load of a CPU when Ethernet is used as a data link protocol for a terminal device in a 3GPP(3rd generation partnership project) wireless terminal. Address establishment information is received from a network device. A different address from an PDP(Packet Data Protocol) address included in the address establishment information is set as a network address of a default gateway(565). A packet received by a mobile terminal is filtered.
