A cup shaped heat spreader and a cooling device for an LED module using the same are provided to circulate a coolant smoothly by reducing the transfer resistance of a vapor refrigerant and a liquid refrigerant. A cup-shaped heat spreader includes an inner heat discharging plate(110), an outer heat discharging plate(120), and an operating fluid. The inner heat discharging plate has a cup shape. The shape of the outer heat discharging plate corresponds to the shape of the inner heat discharging plate. The diameter of the outer heat discharging plate is larger than the diameter of the inner heat discharging plate. The exterior of the bottom part of the outer heat discharging plate thermally contacts with a heat source. A hollow body is formed by coupling the inner heat discharging plate and the outer heat discharging plate. The operating fluid circulates in the hollow body. A wick(130) is arranged in the bottom of the outer heat discharging plate of the hollow body. |
