A process for producing a ceramic honeycomb filter through immersing of an end face of ceramic honeycomb structure having a multiplicity of flow channels partitioned by cell walls in a sealant slurry in a container so as to introduce the sealant slurry in given flow channels to thereby form sealed parts, characterized in that the ceramic honeycomb structure provided with the sealed parts is horizontally taken out from the container.
