A phosphor is provided to be useful as a combination with ultraviolet-ray LED chips by comprising wide excited band of blue light from ultraviolet rays. A phosphor has a composition of the formula: A_m(Ba_(1-x)Eu_x)_nP_yO, wherein A is at least one selected from the group consisting of Li, Na and K; 0 < m < 10, 0 < n < 10, 0 < y < 10, m+n+y=3/4z; and 0.001 < x < 0.8. The phosphor is prepared through 2 step solid phase reaction including a first step and a second step. The first step comprises sintering within air at 1000-1300 °C and the second step comprises sintering in an oxygen and argon atmosphere at 700-950 °C.
