The device has a gripper (12) that is movable from above over a laboratory sample e.g. liquid. The gripper includes a set of fingers (31) that are arranged around an axis, where the fingers are laterally pressable against the sample in order to detect the sample. A drive mechanism is arranged to move the fingers to selectively grip or release the sample. Each finger is radially moved to the axis in an elastic manner. The drive mechanism comprises an actuation member (37) that is movable along the axis, and an actuator drive (38) for moving the actuation member along the axis. |
