An adjustable hospital bed comprises a back support 11, a bottom support 12, a telescopic element 2 and a raising and propping mechanism 3. The raising and propping mechanism comprises a rail 31 secured to the back support, a raising and propping rod 32, a pulley 321 connected to the rod and fitted to the rail, a pivotal shaft 33 at the lower end of the rod connected to the bed and having a bending arm 332, and two position limiting rods 34 pivoted to the back support at one end and to the bed at the other. A power source 4 comprises a force output part 41 which is connected to the bending arm to provide power to the raising and propping mechanism. The telescopic element is pivoted to the back support at one end and connected to the bottom support at the other end, so that as the back support is raised, the telescopic element is lengthened and a space is formed between the supports for receiving the bottom of a patient on the bed. |
