The trench cover 100, for providing temporary cover over a trench, comprises a pair of ground engaging portions 105,110 bridged by a central trench covering portion 135, the ground engaging portions having an arcuate surface 130 which, in use, is in contact with the ground. Each ground engaging portion preferably includes a first and second foot, the feet being located at the corners of the cover. First and second wings 155A,155B are preferably pivotably coupled to opposing sides of the cover so that they can rotate relative to the cover. The wings are pivoted on pins which pass through the centre of a circle 170 formed by the radius of the feet. The cover preferably includes a curved lower surface which presents a concave surface to the ground so as to increase the clearance height between the ground and the trench. The cover may include an upper anti-skid surface and strengthening ribs while reflectors may be located on the wings. |
