A self-supporting type optical cable with improved flexibility is provided to prevent the falling of a thunderbolt by the roof by forming a supporting wire with a member having superior flexibility. In a self-supporting type optical cable with improved flexibility, a self supporting optical fiber cable(100) is molded in the form of eight. The self supporting optical fiber cable comprises a cable body(120), a supporting part(130), and the cable body comprises an optical fiber(112), a tight buffer(114), a tensile member(116), and an outer cover(118). A tensile member is made of a fiber glass reinforced plastic, a glass yarn, and a non-metallic material of the aramid yarn. The supporting part comprises more than one supporting wires(132) and the outer cover(134) that surrounds this supporting wires.
