Classes 20(iii) and, 20(iv) Comprises several constructions of weather welts, e.g. for fitting around the opening of a car boot .to coact with the boot cover, or between a fender and wheel shield, or between a car door and the door opening. The welt comprises an elongated member r of rubber - like elastic material with a base portion 5 and a flexible sealing portion or portions 7 and web reinforcement embedded in the base portion. The reinforcement comprises a row of individual relatively stiff elements 9 spaced along the base with their inner ends connected only by the material of the base. The reinforcing members extend beyond the base and in Fig. 2 for example their projecting ends are joined by the strip 11 by which the welt is attached. In Fig. 6 the reinforcing members are slidably mounted on a rod 77.</p> |
