A method for controlling a high definition multimedia interface of an image device and the image device using the method are provided to remove a need of EEPROMs even though a plurality of HDIM connectors are included, thereby maximally using an internal space of an image device and preventing resource waste. If an external input device is connected to one of HDMI connectors, a controller(205) recognizes an HDMI connector connected to the external input device among the HDMI connectors. A MUX(207) assembles switching lines connected to the HDMI connectors. The MUX activates a port corresponding to an HDMI connector connected to the external input device among ports. An EEPROM(208) is connected to the MUX. The EEPROM stores EDID(Extended Display Identification Data). |
