A method for preventing counterfeiting of a work target manuscript and a multi-function device capable of double-sided printing with a counterfeit preventing function are provided to easily prevent counterfeiting by using the multi function device when a user counterfeits a bill and a security. A scanning unit(30) scans a manuscript. A manuscript identifier(11) identifies a manuscript image inputted to the scanning unit. A prohibited action determining unit(12) determines whether to prohibit the manuscript. An image forming unit(20) prints the manuscript. A controller(10) controls the image forming unit according to the determination result of the prohibited action determining unit so that a start location of double sided printing of the manuscript is different.
