A portable sensor for paper money is provided to sense paper money with one detector in regardless of the kind of a paper money. A hand-held discrimination for money is comprised of a main body member(100) and a cover member(200). The main body member comprises a case(110), a power supply unit, a controller and a light source(170). The light source is operated by the power supply unit and the controller. The cover member is connected to the upper of the main body member with the communications means(150). The cover member is composed of more than one magnifiers(210) or a prism(240).
