A bulb type LED lighting device is provided to improve heat discharging efficiency by using an inner circumference and an outer circumference of a heat sink as an effective heat exchanging area. A bulb type LED lighting device includes an optical unit, a heat discharging unit, a housing(50), and an open heat sink(30). The optical unit includes at least one LED and a PCB(Printed Circuit Board). The housing is coupled with the heat discharging unit. The housing has a power supply unit(51). The heat discharging unit is connected to the PCB. The heat discharging unit includes a cylindrical body. The open heat sink is comprised of a base unit and an extending unit. The base unit is coupled with the PCB directly or indirectly. A heat discharging path is formed in the extending unit.
