A timing controller, an error, generated in an initialization and update, detection method thereof are provided to detect an error generated in initialization of the timing controller and update. A timing controller receives a plurality of data and outputs the error signal according to the transfer state of data. The timing controller processes an image signal inputted from the outside and generates a plurality of control signals. A driving voltage generator(500) generates a plurality of the driving voltage according to the control signal of the timing controller. A gate driver(200) decides a driving voltage generated in the driving voltage generator and supplies it to the gate line(G1-Gn).
