<p>A method for controlling a home appliance and an apparatus using the same are provided to calculate motion and an access degree of a user, thereby controlling the home appliance while the user does not directly contact with the home appliance. A camera unit(120) photographs a menu selection entity of a user accessing within a preset distance. The camera unit senses motion of the user. A display unit(130) displays a predetermined menu window corresponding to motion of the user. If the menu selection entity is accessed within the preset distance by the camera unit, a controller(110) controls the menu window to be displayed. A memory unit(140) stores a preset access distance and the menu window list.</p> |
