An image forming apparatus and a control method the same are provided to prevent a printing work if compared information is not identical by comparing authentication information of a toner cartridge, thereby preventing wrong usage of the toner cartridge. A CPU(Central Processing Unit)(110) determines whether authentication information is identical. The CPU authenticates the toner cartridge through the determination result. The toner cartridge comprises a cartridge frame(202) and a cover(201). When the cartridge frame and the cover and bonded to manufacture the toner cartridge, an authentication key wire circuit(204) is installed on a bonded surface of the cartridge frame. |
