A method and a system for inputting location information of a home network device are provided to easily input an installation position of the home network devices, which are linked by the home network, to a master device by using a control icon. A home network device connected to the home network of a home is recognized(S1). A control icon corresponding to the recognized home network device is generated(S2). A virtual plane having a plurality of domain blocks corresponding to spatial layout of the home is generated(S4). A function for inserting the control icon to the domain block of the virtual plane is provided to insert the generated control icon(S5).
