THICKNESS CONTROL SYSTEM, THICKNESS CONTROL APPARATUS, AND THICKNESS CONTROL METHOD

A system, an apparatus, and a method for thickness control of sheets are provided to control the sheet thickness with high precision by correcting the mass flow sheet thickness with feed-forward compensation value. A method for thickness control of sheets using a system including a controller(10) and a feed-forward compensation output unit(14) is as follows. A feed-forward compensation value corresponding to the roll speed(VR) of a mill(4) is calculated. The controller compensates mass flow sheet thickness obtained based on the measurement values of sensors with the feed-forward compensation value to estimate mass flow sheet thickness(hMF). The sensors include an entry side sheet thickness meter(7e), an exit side sheet speedometer(8d), and an entry side sheet speedometer(8e). A mass flow sheet thickness control unit(17) controls the sheet thickness to the mill based on the mass flow sheet thickness compensated with the feed-forward compensation value.
