A spurt pump is provided to block the pumping fluid from flowing in between the mechanical seal and the driving shaft by injecting water through a wash water supply line, thereby preventing the noise due to idling and reduction of pumping efficiency. A spurt pump comprises a pump housing in which a casing, a casing cover, an auxiliary casing, and an adapter is combined, a wash water supply line(140) extended to the auxiliary casing from the outside of the pump housing, and a mechanical seal(200) which prevents the leakage of fluid between the pump housing and a drive shaft(130). The mechanical seal is composed of a rotor(210) installed on the drive shaft, an O-ring(230) maintaining airtightness between the mechanical seal and the drive shaft, and a stator(220) which is installed to face the rotor.
