A modeling method and an apparatus therefor are provided to obtain a 3D shape having reality of an object shown in a depth image by using the depth image. A shape information generator(110) generates vertexes of a 3D location corresponding to a depth value of each pixel at every pixel of the depth image showing an object. A connection information generator(120) groups pixels belonging to a non-boundary and pixels adjacent to the pixels belonging to the non-boundary at every pixel belonging to the non-boundary of the object among the pixels. A mesh generator(130) connects the vertexes. The mesh generator generates a polygonal mesh.
