FIELD: metallurgy. ^ SUBSTANCE: method of surface state estimate consists in local polishing of particular sections of roll sleeve and examination of smooth out section. Additionally polishing is implemented by bar at a distance 1005 mm from both barrel border by reciprocating movement of strip with amplitude 50Ç100 mm lengthwise roll, and examination of polished surface is implemented at different angles to it with surface illumination not less than 300 lux. For polishing it can be used strip of type 25 A8 "-1 ææ" 20ù7ù170 according to GOST 2456. ^ EFFECT: prolongation of rolls life ensured by prevention of surface defect of its rollers.
