PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always operate an auxiliary brake in an appropriate timing, concerning an auto-cruise device which can travel while holding an inter-vehicle distance with a preceding vehicle. SOLUTION: This auto-cruise device includes: a target inter-vehicle distance calculation means 26 for calculating a target inter-vehicle distance do with a preceding vehicle; an actual inter-vehicle detection means 18 for calculating an actual inter-vehicle distance d with the preceding vehicle; an inter-distance deviation calculation means 28 for calculating a deviationΔd between the target inter-vehicle distance do and the actual inter-vehicle distance d; an inter-vehicle distance deviation rate calculation means 30 for calculating an inter-vehicle distance deviation rate dr as the rate of the target inter-vehicle distance do to the inter-vehicle distance deviationΔd; and a braking device control means 22 for controlling the braking device of the vehicle based on at least the inter-vehicle distance deviation rate dr.
