PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muffle oven capable of easily opening its door even at the time of a high temperature. SOLUTION: This muffle oven (10) for cooking a foodstuff is equipped with a supporting box body (11) for supporting a muffle (12), an oven door (14) joined to the supporting box body via a hinge, a contacting member (15) joined with the supporting box body as one unit and making a contact with the door (14), and a supporting member (16) for supporting a lock mechanism (17) holding the door as its closed state. The supporting member is installed at a highly stiff region (13) of the supporting box body as adjacent to the contacting member. The supporting member supports the lock mechanism as corresponding to the position of a latch mounted to the door and stably to the temperature change of the oven, when the door is closed by making a contact with the contacting member.
