PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively fractionate a high boiling point fraction into gasoline and kerosine/light gas oil fractions. SOLUTION: This catalyst composition for catalytic cracking of hydrocarbon is composed of forgersite-type zeolite and an inorganic oxide matrix. The forgersite-type zeolite is of a flat plate shape, and the average flat surface width (W) ranges from 0.02 to 2μm and the average thickness (T) from 0.01 to 0.5μm.
