<p>A method for data message transmission and a corresponding converter, said method for data message transmission involves the steps of: receiving message sent by the source host; the maximum transmission unit (MTU) value of said message is the switching path MTU value which source host supported; if the self switching path MTU value is less than the said message, an error information will be sent to the source host, and the said switching path MTU value is carried by the error information; receiving resent message whose switching path MTU value is re-determined by the source host as the MTU value of sending message according to the MTU value which carried by the error information, and sending the received resent message to the target host computer. During network transmission, the invention can ensure maximum net work throughput and avoid package loss, thereby improving data transmission performance.</p> |
